The new site gives Bar des Amis a single, coherent online identity that reflects the warmth of the brand. Visitors can now find essential information at a glance: details about the pub, upcoming events, the monthly line‑up, the menu, and photos that show the atmosphere of each location. For the staff, the platform is fast and straightforward to maintain, reducing daily effort while ensuring consistency across all pubs. The result is a durable, modern website that brings the Bar des Amis experience online in a way that feels both accurate and inviting.

02 — solution
I designed and developed a new website in Next.js, connected to a Sanity CMS. The design focuses on visual clarity and imagery that captures the feel of each bar. The existing logo was refined and prepared in several formats for both wide and compact use. Each bar now has its own page within a consistent structure, containing essential information such as opening hours, events, monthly line‑ups, photo galleries, menus and contact details. Updates can be made easily in Dutch, French, and English through Sanity CMS, allowing staff to keep the content accurate and current.

The previous website no longer matched the atmosphere of the bars or the friendly tone of the brand. It looked dated, was difficult to update, and offered little flexibility for multiple languages. Each location was presented separately, with limited space for relevant visitor information such as opening hours, menus, and events. The client wanted a renewed digital presence that expressed their character, served visitors well, and could be managed internally without technical support.

The process began with analysing the existing site and reorganising the content into a clearer structure, making it straightforward for visitors to explore all locations. After design and development were complete, I provided an onboarding session for the team, showing them how to update content, translations, images, events, and menus directly in Sanity CMS. This setup allows the staff to maintain the website independently and keep communication simple and up to date.
Bar des Amis is a small network of pubs known for their easygoing atmosphere and familiar charm. Located in Ghent, Ostend, Bruges, and Brussels, each bar shares the same character — lively, welcoming, and unmistakably Belgian. Their old website no longer captured that feeling or showed the connection between locations. I was asked to design and build a new multilingual website that unites the different bars under one identity and gives visitors a clear overview of each location, including events, photos, the monthly line‑up, menu, and other practical details.
